Mon Voyage à l'Istiqlal

I always love the architecture of this great mosque, Istiqlal..
Designed by FX. Silaban...a famous architect at the era of Soekarno..
He was also a Chatolic...
The giant pilars remind me to the design of Hagia Sophia in Istambul, Turkey and St. Peter Chatedral in Rome, Italy...
This 6 storey building - mosque has a magnificent air circulation, FX Silaban had made it environmental friendly...
He put this great mosque at the 2nd floor to minimize hot temperature and let the air entered through the stainless steel decorations amongs the walls.
He also choosed the stainless steels and marble stones to minimize the maintenance of the building...coz it's easy to clean up and long lasting..
